Hi everybody - It seems that the trouble with Travis has caused an uproar in Congress. Certain people have decided to take this opportunity to outlaw the transportation of monkeys (and other primates) across state lines!
see -
http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills/show/111_HR_80.htmlJust because one chimpanzee went
bananas it doesn't mean that all primates should be punished. It seems to me that maybe foul play or something like that was involved. The owner gave Travis
Xanex and Tea before the incident. Regardless - should all monkeys be punished just because of a bad incident?
I'm not criticizing humans, but every time I watch the news there is at least one story about humans killing other humans and other bad things. Should we pass a law like the "Captive Primate Safety Act" aka the "Monkey Bite Bill", and prevent humans from crossing state borders?
Also as Representative Rob Bishop from Utah said - how would a law against monkeys traveling across borders prevent an incident like the one involving Travis? He didn't cross any borders to go crazy! Sounds like some monkey-hating people decided to use this as an opportunity to punish all monkeys. Sounds like a cover up, conspiracy - we need some investigations! Maybe
Fred is behind this? Someone get Woodward and Bernstein on this
MonkeyGate scandal.
I enjoy traveling across borders and seeing the world -and reporting back to you my friends! Hopefully we can stop this madness and restore monkey rights and monkey equality!
I will be writing letters to Rob Bishop-R of Utah, Earl
Blumenauer-D of Oregon, and Madeleine
Bordallo-D of Guam (preview: Thumbs UP to Rob and Thumbs DOWN to the other two!).
Also Thumbs UP! to Jon Stewart of the Daily Show (see below) who brought this to the attention of the hip kids. - Thanks Jon and Rob!
P.S: Isn't there more important things going on that the US government should be concentrating on?
